The AARE Conference Standing Committee invites abstracts and full papers for the AARE-APERA 2012 to be held in Sydney, Australia on 2–6 December 2012.

Submissions are invited using the online abstract submission form which can be found at the bottom of this page under the guidelines and instructions.

Please read the all the instructions and guidelines prior to submitting.

Submission to WERA Focal Meeting

The WERA Focal Meeting is embedded in AARE-APERA 2012. The detailed call for paper and symposia abstracts and the portal for submission of abstracts for the WERA Focal Meeting are on the WERA website at www.weraonline.org WERA symposia and paper sessions are intended to complement and extend those presented at the main conference under the AARE call. The WERA Focal Meeting seeks to feature research that includes more than one country or is comparative, cross-cultural, international, or transnational in conceptualisation, scope, or design. Abstracts for papers need to meet these criteria; symposia abstracts can include papers from single sites or countries as long as the presentations combined are from different countries and the aims of the symposium are anchored in worldwide or global issues. Duplicate submission through the AARE and WERA online submission systems is not allowed.

Please read the following instructions on how to submit for the WERA Focal Meeting.

Special Interest Groups / Key words

All abstracts for individual presentations, symposia and posters should indicate the Special Interest Group that most closely relates to the topic of their presentation. Where there is no easy match please use the option of ‘keywords’ to provide three words or phrases that best indicate your topic. Abstracts will be assigned to the relevant SIG convenors for reviewing and programming. SIG nominations will also be used to assign papers to reviewers.

Presentation Formats

Individual Presentations

All individual presentations proposed outside of symposia will be programmed with like presentations according to theme. Each presenter will be provided with a 30-minute time slot in either one hour, 90 minute, or 2 hour session. Presenters are encouraged to allow time for rigorous discussion and cross-fertilisation as they prepare their presentations.

The SIG coordinators or program chair will appoint a chair for these sessions from the presenters, prior to the conference, and this person will be responsible for coordinating the presenters and leading discussion as well as ensuring that the session keeps to time.

All individual presentations (including those for which a paper will later be submitted for reviewing) must submit abstracts following the guidelines below:

An abstract cannot exceed 400 words. Authors should choose a SIG which the author(s) feels most closely represents the topic covered in the paper or nominate a limited number of key words to allow the committee to assign the paper to a SIG or theme. Presenters are strongly encouraged to have a written paper of 4000-6000 words for distribution at the paper presentation.

Individual Papers for Full Paper Review

The option of full paper refereeing is available to all presenters (Symposium and Panel participants as well as Individual Paper presenters) after abstracts have been submitted for an individual presentation or symposium. Papers should be 4000-6000 words and should be written in scholarly, academic format as appropriate to the content of the paper.

Papers have no identification of authors throughout the rest of the paper. The paper title should be included in a header on each page. Pages should be numbered. Papers should include an abridged abstract of approximately 300 words under the title and before the text of the paper. APA 5th/6th style for referencing should be used.

Paper submissions will be requested to re upload their paper according to publishing formats once accepted.

Please Click Here to view the template of how to format your full paper . Please ensure that you do not add identifying information until after your paper has been accepted for publication. Submissions for the refereed paper stream will undergo double blind peer review.
